AI has been both revered and reviled in recent history. Some claim it is the end of many jobs, and the destruction of creativity. Others hail it as a time-saving tool, able to elevate work to meet today's need for speed. Being in the camp of you don't know until you try, I decided to create an experiment of my own. Using various AI tools, I created a set of prompts to first create a product and then the design and image of the product for advertising.
The initial prompt was to create a product that would appeal to GEN Z:
The "Remix Reality" Headset
This headset would blend augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) seamlessly.
Imagine attending a concert with friends where the physical venue is augmented with digital effects, creating a truly unique and interactive experience.
Users could customize their surroundings, adding virtual elements to their everyday world or completely immersing themselves in fantastical VR landscapes.
The "Remix Reality" headset would appeal to Gen Z's desire for individuality, immersive entertainment, and tech-driven experiences. The overall aesthetic would likely be sleek and futuristic, with smooth curves and a focus on comfort and functionality.

We Don't always get things right the first time.....
Creating the product with prompts seemed to be exceptionally simple. AI has a knack for pulling information together from several sources quickly and easily. It's understandable why so many use it for writing, and research as it truly does save time.
However, creating an image from nothing was shown to be a much different challenge. It was difficult to explain to a machine the images we create in our heads. Asking to create a playful monkey on a jungle gym, resulted in what appeared to be a mutant colony. A kitten wearing the headset, resulted in an adorable kitten, tangled in a mess of headphones wearing glasses. Almost, but not quite.
After a few tries, and a few different AI image generators, my images got closer and I started to see the creation come to life.
Since I was experimenting with new tools to create a product and images; I thought I would also try some new software. I used Affinity programs to merge, meld, and create digital dynamic and print ads for the Reality Remix Headset. I enjoyed how simple they were to use. While they do not have video editing abilities, they were great for the photo editing, and design elements I needed for my experiment.

While not every image hit the mark, it was an art in itself learning how to generate the images I desired.
